Right-click on the network icon on the taskbar, select "Open network and Internet settings." In the window that opens, select "Ethernet" on the left, and the name of your network on the right.
Next, you can select the type of network you want.
Windows 8.1
Open "Options" with the keyboard shortcut Win + i. Further, in order: Network - view connection settings - connections - the name of your network.
You can change the network type with the "Search for devices and content" switch. On = private network, off = public.
