To reconnect a USB storage device that has been disconnected using the Safely Remove function, open USB Controllers in Device Manager.
1. The removed device will be marked with an exclamation mark. Disable it in the context menu.
2. Activate / turn on the device and refuse the offer to restart the computer if any. In some cases, this will be enough and the device will connect, if not, follow the third step.
3. Remove the device and update the hardware configuration. The drive should appear in the system.
